An easy way to tell if your bearings are worn out.

A stethoscope? In a bike shop???

I stopped into one of our fine LBS today and they didn't even have bar end plugs. Well...they had 6 old Velox rubber plugs with the screw/expander on a yellowed cardboard backer from the 1970's...

Wowser...they were...older than this thread!
 
That's interesting, one learns something new everyday. It takes years and years for the bearings to get worn out. I just take my bike to the local bike shop and get the bearing replaces. It's neither an expensive or time-consuming process so it's nothing that has really bothered me.
