On the schedule:

The Colorado Stage Race - this is a new one but could easily develop into
another big one. Let's remember that they started American stage racing in
the first place

The Tour of Missouri - another new 6 day stage race.

There was also some sort of Tour of the USA that was mentioned though it was
a bit overambitious. On the other hand, what if they developed it into a 6
week Tour? Man that would make it easily the greatest bicycle race in

That's pretty nuts. The guy with the camera seems to get down a hill pretty fast -
if he hadn't been collected by the other guy who crashed, he'd have probably been way
out front soon enough.

Well, those are hardly bicycles. 50 pounds, more suspension travel than
a light trail motorcycle, and more capable of taking a hit, too.

bretheren, and their proof that head injuries don't have to stand in the
way of a healthy lifestyle.

I suppose you could start in Salinas, KS and finish at the top of
Sunshine? The combination of the distance, headwind, and finishing

Yeah and that's just the crazies. There are so many people riding up
l'Alpe d'Huez that a professional photographer can make a living
taking pictures of the passing riders and selling them on his website.
He takes a few shots with his banner in the background and then hands
you a business card as you pass by,

The road bike doesn't handle the trails as well. I'm not the only one.
I'm seeing lots of folks trails riding on cross bikes.
