I have a 2-3 year old Cameleback Mule and the bladder developed a leak.
Investigation of the the source of the leak pinpoint O-ring failure as the
probable cause. The O-ring is not a listed spare part and I emailed
Camelback in the US enquiiring about the availablity of spare O-rings on
Monday. One arrived in the post today having been posted on Tuesday in
California. A most impressive after sales service.

They must cost £15 to make and distribute and they sell them for £70.
No wonder they run a decent after sales department,

Pah, that's nothing.
I have it on good authority that some types of knee ligament cost around 50p
to make and sell for £100. Now that is a major mark up.
I'm very happy with my £55 Camelback Mule. It does everything that I want
it to.

That's called "business practice". It's how businesses work. Yes, it
might cost £15 to make. How much does it cost to market the product,
pack it, ship it, how much do distributors put on top so that they can
also make a profit? It's how things work in a capitalist (with a small
'c'😉 society.
At the end of the day, if you're not happy with the price, you don't
have to pay it, and may well not have done. That is called "free
choice". Me? I wouldn't be without my Camelbak when I'm on my MTB.
