Am I Schwinning?

Juga, I'd recommend that you try to find a used bike until you have the money to purchase the bike you really want.

If you buy a used bike for a good price and take care of it, you'll probably be able to sell it a few months later for nearly the same price you paid for it.

If you buy a new department store bike, you'll be lucky to get half of your money back in a few months...

I actually have looked on craigslist for about a month now and has gotten to the point where I need a bike NOW. While I have found good deals I haven't been the one to capitalize on anything.

Also, resale is not a huge factor.

Well, its not your father's Schwinn, not by a long shot. The bike is not great but if it gets you riding, then it has done its job. My biggest concern is that you get no real support from Wally World. You order it and it is delivered. Yeh, you can return it if the bike is defective, but they are not going to fit it for you and they are not going to readjust it when the cables have stretched. A poorly fitted bike is not comfortable to ride and a lot of bike shops do not like to work on big box store bikes so you might want to become handy at adjusting your cable actuated components so that you can perform the adjustments when the cables have stretched.

I looked through the reviews and I would like to see how many of those people still ride once every few days or every day. A poorly fitted bike is the biggest reason that people stop riding. It is too uncomfortable. It sounds like you will need to replace the saddle as the one that comes with the bike is basically junk. Also, the brakes that come on these Wally World bikes are junk. They used to be called Chang Star in the 1970's and 80's and only came on the lowest end of bicycles. I guess "Chang Star" sounds too much like Chinese junk so they changed the name to "C-Star" but it is the same junk. You will probably want to change the brakes for safety's sake.

Normally I would recommend that you wait and save your money for a better bike, but in your case, go for it but don't judge bicycles and bicycling by this POS. All of the major brands of bikes will be better than the low end Schwinns.

Thanks for you advice, I did get the bike. Honestly it isn't that bad after I did some adjustments with the brakes and front derailer* (sp). I could only get up to 21 mph where with a higher end Fuji and Trek I was able to hit 30 and 31. It will do until February.
