Where did you buy it from at that price?

I'd strongly advise against tumble drying. There may well be a membrane in
between the lining and outer shell which could be adversely affected. My
wife mistakenly put one of my Aldi winter jackets in a tumble drier and the
membrane shrivelled up.

I haven't dared violate the washing instructions - my in-house expert (Mrs
G) says that the tumble drier heat would destroy the coating on the fabric
that makes it water-resistant (it is not completely waterproof) - as for
ventilation, have you tried opening the zippy things under the armpits to
let some air in?

Oh, and I have, well Mrs G has - washed the jacket and used the Nicwax
wash/ingreproofing system - water seems to run off it OK

I only wear it when it is either pouring or cold. It doesn't get worn
very often, and washed even less. I should probably stick it through
the wash again soon..

Cool wash, drip dry over the bath. Works for me.

I use the coat to stop cold water runnign over me. It gets wet enough
from sweat and I don't recollect ever closing the pit zips since I got
it.
