No they don't. This is kind of cruel and nonsensical [censored] is exactly where
"personal experience" can often lead within medicine. Wishful thinking,
suggestion, spontaneous changes in medical conditions and placebo influences
can have such a powerful impact upon both patient and therapist. History
shows you MUST have objective, independent and long-term assessment of ALL
outcomes to know if you are doing good in many areas of medicine.
This woman thinks ADD is due to constipation and that she is doing good and
I am sure could produce some supporting testimonial from hopeful parents.
She would not be likely to tell you, or even necessarily know about any
children made worse or harmed psychologically by her methods. She would
have ready excuses for any obvious failures, ones that do not challenge her
cherished beliefs. Out of a hundred patients treated she will treasure a
few testimonials that support her beliefs, even if the other 95% are
actually harmed by her, and even the "successes" are now not so sure..
We knew how medical practice can deceive to throw up useless treatments long
before alternative medicine chose, with consumate arrogance and naivety, to
repeat history. It is why AM has seventy five different often quite
contradictory theories and methods for any medical disorder (others claim
ADD is associated with certain diarrhoeal illnesses).. And that is before
you get into the real frauds and scammers.

You alties certainly enjoy trotting out that "food voided of nutrients"
myth, don't you? The fact is that we have access to a greater variety of
nutritious foods than ever before in history. It's true that there is plenty
of empty-calorie junk on the supermarket shelves. But there is also a
year-round selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, seafoods, meats, and
the ingredients to prepare any nutritious entree that you can imagine. The
selection is up to the consumer. As for the FDA's "mandated manufacturing
and packaging processes," they are there to assure the purity and safety of
your foods, and you'd be hard pressed to prove that they criminally cause
constipation in children or contribute to childhood malnutrition. In other
words, you don't know what you are talking about. You just like lashing out
at pharmaceuticals and the FDA.

Very true. Examining supermarket trolleys can be a sobering experience.
Alternative medicine is probably on balance a negative force for good
nutrition, through its tendency to promote supplements first and foremost,
and to push crank diets and juicing over healthy diets with adequate fibre.

Certainly I've never advocated "suppression" of ANY alt. therapy or

blame as long as they have been told the truth about what they're buying.
Nobody is lying about the empty food in question -- unless you think
McDonald's is marketing its burgers as some sort of organic health food??
Telling consumers the TRUTH -- whether about alt. or conventional treatments
or the food they eat is the whole point.
And if you think the only healthy food available is fresh produce, your
knowledge of nutrition isn't any more extensive than your knowledge of A&P.
You need to learn a LOT about both.
Fresh produce is often NOT a good choice, especially if the consumer doesn't
eat it soon after it's picked. In cases where the fruits or veggies won't
be eaten in a relatively short time, frozen produce (usually processed &
packaged within hours of harvesting) is often a better choice for superior
retention of nutrients.
Moderate amounts of lean meats, whole grain products ranging from breads to
pastas to cereals, & produce (both fresh & frozen) are readily available.
If people choose not to eat them -- all the while knowing that the junk food
they're consuming is of inferior quality -- that's their problem.
There's no hypocrisy or different standard in my POV. Your poor attempt to
claim otherwise is duly noted, rb.
