  1. Seeing as the Rasmussen sticky seems to have turned to debate on Alpuerto anyway, i thought id give him his own thread as he is now the latest GC leader to be implicated in doping.

It just seems an absolutely rediculous situation to me. IMO as others have said the ASO put pressure on Rabobank to pull Ras. Surely now the suspicions will fall on Alpuerto just as they have on Ras when he was in yellow. Yes there is no definative proof that he cheated in much the same way as there is no definitive proof that Ras cheated. Yet it is pretty obvious that they both have and do dope.

For God's sake did u see Alpuerto after he won stage 14. Crossing the line after attacking Ras time and time again on the final climb and then sprinitng across the finish. His ludicrous gunshot celebrations and rediculous huge grin. He wasn't even tired in the slightest. It is not humanly possible to be that fresh after attacking the 2 time winner of the polka dot jersey, at the end of a huge mountain stage (who we all know loved his cow blood anwyay).

The only people who have implicated Contador in doping are morons like you and White Trash. There is zero evidence against Contador. His inclusion in Puerto was cleared up as a mistake almost as soon as it happened. Here is Purdhome's reaction to questions about Contador and Puerto.

""In terms of the Contador linkage to Operación Puerto the Tour director again blamed the UCI for putting Contador on the list prematurely and elaborated that the "presumption of innocence does not exist anymore. Due to the system there are are doubts about all riders," but he wants this to change back to the concept of innocent until proven otherwise.""

As far as your evaluation of his performance goes, it's brain dead. If he was fresh when he came in, then he would have gone faster during the race and taken more time out of Rassmussen. He obviously needed all the time that he could get. And if he was excited and celebrating, all riders do that if you haven't noticed - no matter how hard the stage. And for a young kid winning his first stage in the Tour it was especially sweet. You simply saw it through the eyes of a guy that get's [censored] any time he sees a Disco win.

  6. I will be surprised if he is top three and manages to last two weeks without a positive finding; I think he's next.

He's never had a positive finding in his life, and he has won both stages and stage races. So you are entitled to your own ignorant opinion.

And I like how you throw out the presumption of innocence. Not only until proven guilty, but before a shred of evidence even exists.

I dont see him losing 6 minutes to Sastre in TT. He has to ride like Rasmussen to do that.

Blah, blah, blah. Where is any evidence of anything? I see that they are speculating about the source of the blood clot in his head. "Maybe it was EPO". He fell on his head for chrissake. Where is the mystery of a blood clot? The clowns are desperate.

  13. Where is the evidence against Rasmussen?

If there were evidence at this point, he would be out of the Tour. There isn't, so he isn't. But it is human nature to speculate, in fact, it is an intellectual activity that leads to discovery. (Pun not intended, but, well, there it is! 🙂 )

If Rasmussen doped, one has to wonder about any rider that stayed with him, spin for spin of the pedals. And at an age quite young, not unheard of young but quite young, for a multi-week stage race champion.

    Eh, ever hear of witnesses?

Hmm. At 21 that would convict Andy Schlekt wouldn't it.

It would lead to suspicion, yes.

But perhaps others can correct me if I am wrong, perhaps I am wrong about the age at which one generally sees multi-day stage success emerge. I do know that they pull out young riders sometimes because, it is argued, that riding the full three weeks at a young age is a bad idea. See Mark Cavendish (who, true, is a sprinter and the mountains were coming) who was expected to last one week (lasted one day less, I think). Maybe someone else can speak to this more authoritatively.

How old is Mark? How old is Contador?

Yeah if that is evidence then there is evidence of Discovery having an organized doping program as well, which would implicate young Mr. Puerto.
