Alpine Classic - possible a.b meetup?

Wonderful news for thirsty cyclists in the Bright area, but not too sure about a actual brewery in situ for this coming weekend.

Ponder this for a moment. The Audax organisers have seriously taken into consideration extremes of both heat & cold - anyone who's received the ride info and realises previous ride history would know this. Also recall that in 2003 the ride was cancelled due to bushfire danger. The weather factor is unfortunately a random element which affects everyone. With most outdoor activity, all these factors mentioned above, will also affect any participation etc. So you're attempting to comment that people wanting to enjoy an cycling event are freaks? Or what?

Ah, yes, but here you're not talking about abstract concepts, you're communicating with *actual people you know*. Unfortuanately the weather conditions look [censored] for the Alpine & seriously I am deeply concerned about my partners & friends welfare. It was an MBTC ride maybe 6 months (a training ride for MBTC) back
when I first saw a hypothermia victim up close. That was an
interesting experience, and I'm glad I found out what hypothermia
looks like while other people who knew what hypothermia was, were
around.

Then when I did that 4 day ride after Hmas, Justin had a minor case of
heat stroke on the first day, when it was 35degrees -- shivering, etc.

Despite my usual inability to cope with the heat, I am yet to have
heatstroke myself -- I wonder if that is because I drink so much water
(to the point where I get myself in trouble because I run out quicker
than everyone else)?

I suspect I shall be utilising the air conditioning at work on Sunday.
I somewhat doubt I will be doing a BR 🙁

Just looking at the ride info, it says the pin would be pulled at a WBGT of 28deg+.

My question is what is the humidity like in Bright on a hot day %wise?
Having a look at the table at the bottom of the page, a temp of 38 and 15% would be enough, or only 33 deg at 30%.

Well we went up to Daylesford (closer to Trentham, actually) and danced like
loons. It was, indeed, bloody hot. The house isn't on the grid for
electricity, just photovoltaic cells and a generator so no air con or fans
either, if it comes to that. Fun though. Yeah, I'm OT...sue me :P
