I was just going thru the ingrediants of ALA and it says Rice powder , Gelatin , Silica and Vegetable magnesium stearate . I wonder how this composition has such a great effect on controlling diabetic neuropathy , cholesterol etc .

I think you are confused. You are listing the ingredients used to make the capsules (gelatin, silica, and mg stearate). The actual alpha-lipoic acid is contained in rice bran. -- Jim Chinnis Warrenton, Virginia, USA [email hidden]

The half-life of ALA is about 20 minutes. That means you should be taking time released forms of ALA in the 600 mg a day range (assuming that you are a diabetic).

That is not so wise statement. In Germany doctors have successfully been using alpha-lipoic acid for the prevention of diabetic neuropathy for over 10 years.

Not unless you soak it in ALA first. The ALA is the active ingredient. The rice bran is just part of the container system.
Just thought that you Science want-a-bees [censored] might want to know.
Oh, aren't *you* the nasty little cripple. LOL.
These nice [censored] science people have been harassing my natural health efforts over a period of 6 years.
You people are scum in my book, and you are not remotely living up to either science, or the scientific method.
Medical Scientist is one the biggest scams plaguing the United States, costing taxpayers billions of tax dollars in totally unnecessary and useless research.
That is why you are a [censored], [censored]. And, I do not mind saying so. 🙂
Half life in the body? Where can I read about this MR-NH? Never seen a time released form.
Half life is short, which is why I take time released. If you do a froogle.com search for it, you'll find a couple of time released formulas. I use Jarrow Alpha Lipoic Sustain because so far it's the cheapest I've found. I've bought it at a few different sites, based upon price.
