I submitted a handful of recipes to them MONTHS ago and have not heard
boo from them. I even tried contacting them about my submissions and
they didn't even have the decency to send a reply. I used to suggest
allrecipes.com to people all the time, but no more. Now I'm telling
    people NOT to go there.

It took about 6 or 7 months for my recipe to be submitted. I don't know
why it takes them so long or why they don't respond...they didn't
respond to me either when I asked. I still think it's a decent source
for recipes...just don't bother to submit anymore.

Maybe your recipes sucked. Ever though of that?

They published my first recipe in days. My next recipe, submitted in 2005
has yet to be reviewed. I wrote the company twice and they just don't take
criticism very well and blacklisted my recipe, citing "we're seeking new
and unique recipes at the moment." "Green Death Tuna Salad Sandwiches"
isn't listed once. But hunt down chili and you'll have dozens of pages to
    "sift" through. The BUMS!!!

The other major fault that I suggested is that they create a date search so
I can search only today's recipes but they obviously can't comprehend why
anyone would possibly want to use a feature like that. They have a today's
recipes feature that are just old recipes that they probably pick out of a
    hat!

I do like the cookbook and the peer review features.

So yeah, it IS their website so sadly it IS "The world according to
    allrecipes." Verging on stuck up.

If someone here wants a recipe that sounds like one in my allrecipes
cookbook, I'll post the url but I won't send users there out of the blue. I
did early on, but never again.

And I'll never submit another recipe there.

Irrelevant. They publish any recipe. It's up to the users to post ratings.

I much prefer Recipezaar. They publish within hours and they have a better
selection (at least of recipes I would use). Try them. I haven't used
    Allrecipes for a while now.

I'm trying recipezarr to search for eggs sardou and am having no luck. I
tried the recipe search. I tried the ingredient search using
artichoke, egg, spinach and it went out on it's own finding recipes with the
    various ingredients. A little convoluted.

You don't suppose eggs sardou isn't on their website?

Should my ingredient search be artichoke+egg+spinach?

I like that it has a "Just Added" feature.

While true, I was giving recipebazaar a trial run. I couldn't even find
help on how to search for ingredients.

I tried the A-Z Recipe section and no mention of eggs sardou so that
    explains that.

Lots of easy, easier, easiest, fast, faster, fastest, quick, quicker,
quickest, simple, simpler, simplest in the titles.

    406 Tasty
    1 Tastier
    Only 13 Tastiest recipes?

Do I sacrifice tastiest for easier? OR quick for simple? --JUST KIDDING--

I also got a laugh out of the 87 "Impossible" recipes!??

I'm sure it's the same at all the big food websites.

Didn't realize they were joined at the hip to Food-TV, HGTV, etc. sites.

I ad-blocked all of the backgrounds and banners I could to make it much
easier on these tired eyes and it looks much better. Just don't have a
total grand picture of how it's all organized. A site map would be helpful.
