  1. IT'S ALLERGY SEASON (ACHOOO!)

    IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING

Unless you live inside of an air-filtered environmentally
sterile plastic bubble, you'll soon be breathing air filled
with tree pollens and grass pollens.

For me, the simple sound of a lawn mower breaking the
silence of a Sunday morning once set me to sneezing.

Like swallows returning to Capistrano, my annual 6 week
season of wheezing and sniffles would begin on the ides of
April and last until June 1st.

    THE CURE

After discontinuing ALL milk and dairy products, the
allergies were gone. There would be an occasional tickle in
the nose, and when pollen counts are high there is an
occasional sneeze, but wonder of wonders, I now sleep
    through the night without medication.

No longer do I need Actifed-C with codeine. No more
    antihistamines. No more nose spray.

Milk and cheese. They made the difference.

If only my allergist had told me about this publication
    nearly twenty years ago:

"Dairy products may play a major role in the development of
allergies, asthma, sleep difficulties, and migraine
    headaches."

Israel Journal of Medical Sciences 1983; 19(9):806-809

Seven years ago, I read a revealing article in the Townsend
Medical Letter. I remember the moment well. That was the
last time I ate ice cream:

"In reality, cow's milk, especially processed cow's milk,
has been linked to a variety of health problems, including:
    mucous production...and allergies."

Townsend Medical Letter, May, 1995, Julie Klotter, MD

I paid thousands of dollars to various allergists, receiving
treatment that did not work. Why did not any of them tell me
    the following:

"At least 50% of all children in the United States are
allergic to cow's milk, many undiagnosed. Dairy products are
the leading cause of food allergy...Many cases of asthma and
sinus infections are reported to be relieved and even
    eliminated by cutting out dairy."

Natural Health, July, 1994, Nathaniel Mead, MD

    There is a simple cure. Enjoy a dairy-free, allergy-free
    spring!

    I hope not, anyway.

What's wrong with people quitting dairy if it relieves them of certain
symptoms and offers one less source of artery plugging cholesterol and
    fat?
Everyone should quit for 60 days and see how much better they feel.
Some may go back to dairy, but most won't.

  5. Allergies are a threshold problem. The last thing in that "breaks the camels
back" gets the blame. Take away a large irritant and there is room for more
allergens in your system without "over"reaction.

You are still allergic to the pollens. It is just your immune system is not
    overloaded anymore.

Get a clue about allergies will you.
It just takes a very small amount of allergen to kill you. It is not dose
related. You are either allergic to it or you are not and it is not
dependent on how many other things you are allergic to.
Most people who have allergy problems are allergic to many things.

  10. You can have more than one Hidden Food Allergy at once. Keep a food
diary. Try eliminating soy or wheat from your diet for a few days
(minimum of 3 days). Another Hidden Food Allergy may be subtlely
robbing you of energy. You might get healthier looking skin too.

  15. If the anti-milk claims are true then how do those high
dairy-consuming Swiss manage to do so well on their diet? They don't
seem to suffer from the ailments that you guys talk about all the

I'm so hurt Pizza bimbo. I'm 60, 6' 1" 175 and run trail races that are
50k to 100 miles. You may be correct that I'm sick but sure as [censored] is
not physical and drinking milk has not killed me yet. Without the fat it
is great food. I do enjoy your brand of quackery and blaming drinking
milk and your cousin ironnut all focusing on single foods or nutrients
as the cause of bad health. I'll see if I can get Jay Leno to tune in -
you would be a great source for his opening monolog. If it walks like a

Ok, David, is this an example of what you mean by "improperly tying"
one person's argument to another? Are you going to criticize Doug for
doing that? No, you won't, because you and he are on the same team.

No. Unless maybe Leno starts posting here.

Actually, I've had very little exposure to Mr. Freese and was not
even paying much attention to the thread.

    IT'S ALLERGY SEASON (ACHOOO!)
    IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING

For me, the simple sound of a lawn mower breaking the
silence of a Sunday morning once set me to sneezing.

    THE CURE
After discontinuing ALL milk and dairy products, the
allergies were gone. There would be an occasional tickle in
the nose, and when pollen counts are high there is an
occasional sneeze, but wonder of wonders, I now sleep
    through the night without medication.

Milk and cheese. They made the difference.

    I doubt it.

allergies, asthma, sleep difficulties, and migraine
    headaches."

Israel Journal of Medical Sciences 1983; 19(9):806-809

Seven years ago, I read a revealing article in the Townsend
Medical Letter. I remember the moment well. That was the
last time I ate ice cream:

"In reality, cow's milk, especially processed cow's milk,
has been linked to a variety of health problems, including:
    mucous production...and allergies."

Townsend Medical Letter, May, 1995, Julie Klotter, MD

The Townsend Medical Letter is yet another source of worthless
misinformation. You sure know how to find them, don't you George?

    There is a simple cure. Enjoy a dairy-free, allergy-free
    spring!

The notion that everyone with seasonal allergies would benefit from
avoidance of dairy products is just the sort of nonsense that you persist
in posting here. We've heard you, George. You believe we all should
eliminate milk from our diets. For all the posting that you've done, I
doubt that you have convinced even one person to go dairy free.

    I hope not, anyway.

    --Rich

Sorry, Rich... I buy it. I've personally noticed my allergies are better on
days that I stay away from dairy. Likewise, they get much worse when I
drink milk. I gave it a try after reading about it a couple years ago.

  20. Hi all,

Interesting thread. For your info, I read an article about allergies
today that might interest some of you. I posted a brief about it at my
    blog at http://tncs.blogspot.com/
