I've been biking for the past three years, and have had an unsual amount of phglem and/or a runny nose each time I would go out for a ride.
Well it's getting kinda old and I was wondering if anyone else encountered a simmilar problem? Could it be allergies? Or is this just the bodies reaction to moving fast while outside?

It's a natural reaction for some people, especially in cooler weather. And for most in cold air.
I take prescription medicine for allergy problems and I still get a runny nose when riding in the morning. If you only have this problem when riding your bike, then I doubt it is allergies.
Get your nose checked by an ENT to determine the problem. My athletes did have this problem cycling when we had the haze or when they competed in colder conditions.

Well i have a theory. Currently i am in anatomy class and we just went over the eyes. There is a system called the lacrimal apparatus which consists of lacrimal gland and the ducts that drain the excess lacrimal scretions(tears) into the nasal cavity (you nose). The Lacrimal gland continually releases a dilute saline solution (tears) and blinking spreads the tears downward and across the eyeball to were the excess solution drains into the lacrimal canaliculi(canals, the tiny 2 red dots of your eye by your nose). From the canals the tears drain into the lacrimal sac and then into the nasolcrimal duct, which empties into the nasal cavity at the back of the nose. When the eyes are irritated, the release of tears increases and they spill over the eyelids and also fill the nasal cavity causing congestion.
I think this could be what is happening, your eyes may be getting irritated due to a reason i can only guess as small debris in the ride or allergies. I also get this problem, but its only on one part of my ride soo i think it might be something in the air when i rode through causing irritation in my eyes. DO YOU wear glasses? i think that might solve the problem? I do not have a pair of glasses at the moment, but will get them soon and hopefully that will solve my problem? what do you guys think😕?
To me it's allergies. The pollen here is unbearable, my SUV is red and by the time I park and go for a ride and then come back? The whole winshield is yellow, the hood, you name it.
I was pretty sure it was just a reaction to exercising outside. Oh well I guess I'll just have to deal with my runny nose.
You could have hayfever everyone reacts differently, not sure where you are located but it's possible especially in spring. Could try a antihistamine specifically for hayfever on your next ride. If you not sure see your doctor.
Whoa, all these big words and theories. Well i do ride with glasses and whenever i go on rides i normally don't see people needing to spit as much as i occasionally do. The weather is getting warmer so I'll be able to see if its a cold thing or not. Maybe just an alergy.
