  1. I note that I now have more than 7000 posts to ARBR. I am going to go for
10,000 and then I may retire. I think the only other contestant in my class
is Mr. Tom Sherman. But he is a gypsy and moves around more than I do, so
his stats are not all on one address like mine are. He has claimed in the
past then he has posted more than 10,000 messages. All of my messages have
been from a single address and under a single name.

Well, I will hang in there until I reach 10,000 and then these newgroups can
go to Hell for all I care. No one appreciates me, a sure sign that I am
dealing with idiots, morons and imbeciles. Yea, I am way too good for the
lot of you. You will miss me when I am gone and you will not have the Great
Ed Dolan to kick around anymore.

    Regards,

  2. Few will miss you when you leave by the end of next week.

Kepp posting mindless nonsense like this and you'll get there pretty quick.

Yes they are. But from time to time I turn mine off, just to see if
dribble is still being posted by the same people. It might be time to
    turn them back on.

You may be posting under one name, but you should post as Ignatius J.
Reilly... as your attitude reminds me of the book, Confederacy of
    Dunces.

"When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this
sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."

    I bet you're a hoot at parties.

You are kidding yourself if you are counting on ED to quit on his own.

Can we offer a buyout so you can retire early?

Mr. Sherman has an engineer's mind of a somewhat scientific bent which is
always useful to impress numskulls like you. But he is permanently lost in
matters of the liberals arts (he thinks baroque music is the equal of
classical era music). The only liberalism he knows is the political kind.
This marks him as an ignoramus of the first magnitude.

Minnesota if just chock full of liberal idiots who read the (Minneapolis)
Star Tribune and thereby think they are in the know. What they are really in
is deep doo-doo. I think this idiot is not even from Austin, Minnesota but
rather from that other Austin, the one down in Texas. Go figure!

Only inferior beings need friends. Does God have any friends? Of course not!
After all He is God. I am like God that way, although not a Trinity like He
    is.

To know oneself is all the friendship that is ever needed in this world of
woe. If and when you ever come to that very simple realization, then, and
only then, will you be eligible to enter my Order of the Perpetual Sorrows.

That's why he refers to several people as his friends.

I see. So friendship with God is not needed! How incrfedibly arogant.

Perpetual sorrows...That means your order will not be allowed into
heaven, where God says He will wipe away every tear. Either that or
it's not perpetual. Sorry, can't have it both ways. God is not that
    stupid.

BTW, I am not from Austin. I once explained that to you, in a kind,

What kind of an idiot are you to have user name like AustinMN and not be
    from Austin, Minnesota?

But this is the kind of idiot I am continually getting stuck with on these
newsgroups - people who don't know where the hell they are from. Do they
    even know who they are?

Surely you must know that I stand in awe of your posts. My reply to
Messrs. Doofus and Doofus simply refers to "Bentracer and Bentrider."

    Your humble servant,

    Brickston

Everyone is always playing around with my name. The beginning letter D in
    Doofus threw me off.

Humble servants are always greatly appreciated and are very hard to come by

Newsgroups that are devoted to strictly on-topic subjects are destined to
perish of boredom as only the very dullest people in the world will be found
there. Take a look at some of the more the technical forums if you don't
    believe me.

I and few others furnish these groups with subjects that range widely.
Further, we bring personality to the forefront and thereby provide some
human interest to what would otherwise be the dullest thing in the world -
blathering eternally about bicycles and cycling. God help us all!
