Just back from Aldi in Feltham having purchased....
1 pair of Combo Pedals (clipless one side, plain the other) £12.99
1 pair of Cycling shoes (these are in sizes 8-11 only) £19.99
1 pair Winter Cycling trousers £7.99
I've never ridden clipless, or owned a pair of cycling specific shoes
and want to have a go [1]
My initial reactions are that the trousers and shoes are fine. I
thought the shoes looked a bit rough in the shop but they seem
comfortable enough so far. I'm a little mystified that they seem to come
with what appears to be four football boot studs that can be screwed
into the cleat holes, and a spanner to insert same.
The pedals seem OK although the aluminium casting hasn't been cleaned up
very well.I'm not sure if the spindle can be serviced as it looks like
it is permanently sealed.
There are none of the Winter Cycling Shirts in the Feltham store. They
didn't arrive and they are expected on Saturday. I don't know if this
is just that branch or whether it's a delivery problem across the whole
chain.
I looked at some of the other stuff. The lighting sets and the locks
probably are worth what they are asking. There is also some jackets and
overtrousers.
Hope this is useful

unclip!
