Well, may I demure.
I have an Aldi walking pole from last year, it is good quality, a cork
grip, anti-shock, at least as good or better than my Leki but less than
a third the price

The pedometers looked OK, but I just got a "Dunlop" branded one from a
local Pound Shop

Softshell jackets looked good, but I am awash with fleeces - the
waterproof looked OK for a budget design, the waterproof zip on the
chest looked a good feature. Hard to tell about breathability and
waterproofness till crunch time, but if I was not sorted out in this
department too I would have gone for one for 15 Quid

Lidl are promising some walking gear in the next week or two

Your opinion maybe ..... but 100% merino wool base layers at 9.99 isn't to
be sniffed at, neither are Coolmax T shirts at under a fiver. Also,
teflon-coated walking shorts (quick drying and lightweight) at bargain
prices. I spent 38 pounds, and the same kit (but with posh labels!) would
have been treble (or more) of that price at places like Blacks and George
Fishers.

fleece, up the hills round Snowdon yesterday, snow all the way from
250m up, and was lovely and warm. Not bad for £25.
