Think about it. When eating only one of those, just consider if one
quarter or even one half a teaspoon of any straight alcoholic beverage
could possibly make you tipsy.

In the old days, Haagen-Daaz Rum Raisin icecream had enough
booze in it that if you started from scratch and scarfed
down a pint, you'd feel an alcoholic buzz.

Truffles with liquor in them, unlikely.

Depends how big the candy is and how many you eat.

Chances are it probably has about the same amount of alcohol as
3-4 slices of bread.

I got a nice batch of home made cookies as a gift from a co-worker that
I know and love. We're both foodies so this was a treat, particularly
since I hadn't had the dough/nougat balls in a while.

But the rum cookies were my favorite.

I do have to say, this was the first holiday season in many years where
I drank more alcohol than ever before. It wasn't so much that it was a
tougher year per se, but that there was so much booze that I didn't have
to pay for.

Got to sample a few different wines, found out I definitely like fruity
wines more than dry. So overall it was a good season.

Cute cats, particularly Ramsey.

I've found that imbibing liquid is the fastest way to a buzz. But
confections etc. are a pleasant way to get there.

Oh yes! DH's aunt who is about 3 months his senior makes the best rum
ball and yes you will get a buzz! I tried making them last year and it
just wasn't purdy unless you count the dunken birds with hangovers under
one of the front yard trees. DH claimed them to be cruel and unusual
punishment for both humans and birds 😉

My sister made the most _amazing_ (and powerful) rum balls just using
chocolate cookie crumbs. Quick and easy.

The best info I could find was on a box of 5 chocolates, weighting a
total of 2.75 oz, with a total alcohol-by-weight content of 2.5 to 5%.
(The alcohol was vodka, so we can assume we're dealing with the
stronger stuff, as opposed to the brandy- or champagne-filled
chocolates, which may be somewhat lower in alcohol strenght in the
first place).

So in the whole box there will be less than .05 * 2.75 oz * 28.35 g/oz
* 1.27 ml/g = 4.95 ml of pure alcohol.

That's about the alcohol content of 4.95 / .4 = 12.4 ml of hard liquor.
An ounce is 28.35 ml, so you'd have to eat a dozen of these chocolates
to get a one-ounce shot of booze.

I think by then you'll be flying on the chemicals in the chocolate, and
the alcohol buzz will be an afterthought.

The Liqueur Candies are filled with the actual liqueurs, same taste
and same potency as what you get when you buy it bottled.

For many years, these candies were not sold in the USA, at least not
in New York because the authorities were afraid that children would
find them and eat them with adverse results. I remember bringing back
such candy from a trip to Europe and filling out that I did not have
any in my luggage. Nobody searched our bags.

However, coming back from Canada one time, the border officials looked
into the trunk of our car and found several boxes of liqueur candy
and confiscated them. Luckily, they did not find the box of Cuban
cigars which we had bought as a gift for someone. :o) That could have
gotten us a stiff fine, especially if we had lied about it.

Liqueur candies are legally sold here now, but Cuban cigars are still
not allowed to be brought in, unless you are a foreign tourist and say
that you use the cigars only for yourself, during your stay here.

Thanks for all the input. The reason I asked was that I felt a warming
sensation after consuming those chocolates.
