I've been dining out twice a week and holding even with a little effort on
the other days. I still measure everything at home and estimate portions at
restaurants.
I have stayed low carb except one time dining out at an Ethiopian
restaurant. The injera are basically a form of bread. This left no option.
Ethiopian is eaten by hand with no utensils. The injera is used to pick up
the food. So, I cheated, but by the end of the week my carb percentage was
still low enough.
I'm starting to get an idea of what my burn rate is, in Fitday numbers. It
seems to be somewhere around 1900 calories per day. This seems so huge
after so many months at 1400, and then 1200 calories per day.
From my reading, I had entertained a theory that there is a maximum
absorption rate for fat. In review of my massive indulgence in almonds
several weeks back, it appears that every calorie counted, even on a day
with over 4000 calories. There is no free lunch, so to speak.
I went to the vet for a grooming. For my dog, that is. The groomer asked
me about my weightloss. I tried to answer some questions and point her
toward Atkins, but somehow I just can't seem to lead anyone to an epiphany.
I can't eat as much LC ice cream as I used to. I'm much more sensitive to
the sugar alcohol laxative effect. I drink more heavy cream instead.
