I would love to ride my bicycle to school. However, I am concerned about afterwards. Going into school while hot and sweaty, is not a pleasant sensation. I am not vain, but I am in high school, and thus face pressure to appear at my best. However, I imagine I am not the only one who does not wish to appear sweaty around those that they wish to impress, whether for professional or personal purposes. Does anyone have any advice for biking to work and still appearing put together?

Simply carry some baby wipes and wipe yourself down afterwards.
I did get a laugh about facing pressure to look your best in high school, where do you go to school? because around where I live they look like people who can't afford to buy the right size pants and belts to hold them up with...not what I call looking your best with underwear showing out, in fact I call it a lack of personal self respect when people dress like that, believe it or not it's a harbinger of cultural decline in America.
In fact I think the sagging pants thing is disguising an alien race that lives among us:

Yes, I remember I used to have that thoughts when I started to commute to church using my bike to travel quite a long distance. By the time I arrived at church, I noticed that I was all sweaty and probably smelled as well. After that, I started to think of a way to minimize this problem and came up with a routine that hopefully will reduce this problem.
This is my routine that I do during the commute to my church: take a long and thorough shower beforehand, put some deodorant on my armpits, wear a plain t-shirt under another shirt (that still looks nice enough), and then ride my bike in a pace that is not too intense. By the time I arrived in church, I will go to the bathroom to wipe myself and change into my church's attire that is already sprayed with perfume.
So far, there hasn't been any problem as I feel more refreshed that way and I can smell nice odor from my body as well.

Give yourself some extra time when you get there. Wear a lightweight shirt that will keep you cool, then change to what you want to wear for the day once you get there.
Many people who commute to work wear cycling clothes, or just different clothes while riding, then change to their work clothing when they get there. You can also bring a wash cloth or small towel with you to wipe yourself off if you feel damp and sweaty.

Just give yourself extra time to get to school and then cycle more slowly. You're only going to sweat if you're straining yourself along the way. Of course, the extra time allows you to ride at a leisurely pace, reducing sweat and other unwanted consequences of bicycling. It's as simple as that.

You could try wearing different clothes and changing into your good clothes once you get to school, bravo on wanting to cycle though, many of the kids in this country don't seem to know what a bike is unless you can play it on the wii! Mae sure you take plenty of deodorant with you, I am never without mine any more, especially since it is getting warmer!

Just get to school 30 minutes ahead of your normal routine and try to cool off. Go to the bathroom and clean up a bit. Should take that much effort to get cleaned up. You just have to allot enough time to do so.

Hmmm. High school is a sensitive time for teenagers. They have a need to look good in school. Like Josh said earlier, get to school early to wash up. It might be a drag to get ready earlier but that's the only option if you want to impress the ladies.
