Yep, they tend to do that. I stuff an additional scrubbie into the bottle and don't fill it completely to the top. My biggest annoyance with aerobar mounted drinking hardware is the resonance noise they tend to transfer when near empty.

So I just tried out my new aerodrink from profile design.
A few bumps into the ride the splashguard fell into the bottle and the liquid started spilling everywhere on every bump.
Any way to prevent this from happening? Did I use the guard wrong? Are lids available? Do I just buy a double drink mount for behind the seat?

There is a nearly identical thread about this going on on Slowtwitch right now. The recommendations posted there fall into four categories:
1. Ditch the profile spashguard and instead get a replacement sponge meant for a JetStream bottle. Concensus is that the Jetstream sponge works better. 2. Ditch the splashguard and replace it with one of those body wash "rufus" or "loofah" thingies available from drug stores - which also work better. 3. Ditch the whole bottle and replace it with a JetStream bottle - which works better. 4. Ditch the aerobar mounted bottles - because they all splash to a certain extent - and use a frame or seat mounted bottle because they work better.
Seriously, I think any of hte above may be a solution for you. I have a JetStream bottle and it seems to work pretty well. The only time it splashes is if I really hit something hard that I shouldn't be hitting in the first place. You can buy the JetStream sponge part for $6.00 here: http://www.trisports.com/jetnxtrepfoa.html
The body wash things probably cost $3.00 at Walgreens.
Hello, I've forgot my splashgaurd before, and had to improvise. Use the lid off of a water bottle, like the free ones we get in our goody bag, and wrap the rubber bands that hold the aerodrink up and around the nozzle. Works great.

I used the Aerodrink this for Ironman Arizona -- in practicing, I experienced the same problem, hit a bump and the splash guard came out. I ended up turning the splashguard horizontally and stuffed it in front to back. It doesn't come out anymore and prevents splashing around. Lasted the whole 112 mi.

The sponge from the JetStream works fine in the AeroDrink, but the scouring pads are cheaper and work, too.
