turkey very long. What happens after that?

The turkeys at Farm Sanctuary aren't bred and they only come to the sanctuary because of abuse
cases. Serena was rescued from a cruel college prank. Often, authorities contact Farm Sanctuary when
farm animal abuse cases are found.

$15 is simply a contribution added to the pot for turkeys feed. That's probably equal to a month's
worth. There are many other ways they raise $ for the sanctuary.

I don't understand what the scam would be. The sanctuary's been around for many years and has a
reputation for good stewardship of donations. The website for adopt-a-turkey & farm sanctuary
provide lots of information about adopting any of the animals on a monthly basis. Again, I'm sure it
all goes into the same fund for all the animals.

Adopt an animal schemes are very common and a good way to support a cause without spending too much
money. Adopt an animal schemes make good presents. Several people adopt the same animal, usually.
Animal sanctuaries are expensive to run and depend entirely on donations. As a previous poster said,
most of these animals have been rescued. In the UK, I support Hillside Animal Sanctuary, in Norfolk.
We visited last summer - it is run by a vegan - Wendy Valentine - who had made it her life's work.
They also have self catering accommodation if anyone wants to stay in the area and support a good
