I found on ebay some Adistar IV LD very cheap. I know they are mainly ment to be for staples and over 3k. I race 800-1500 so I was planning to use them only for trainig and XC (winter season). Now my concern is that they are not really good for 400m and I do a lot of short distances for training. And they are not very good for XC too because they have only 5 spikes. So even if they are cheap (about $15) I'd rather not waste the money. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Eastbay has a discount outlet called final-score.com. They have a bunch of discounted spikes, including the Nike Zoom Kennedy and Zoom Kennedy XC. One of El guerrouj's world records was run in the Kennedy, and Nike came out with a separate xc version only after after people started using them for xc, so you can do XC racing in them plus 400/800/1500 training. The Kennedy XC is about 3 ounces heavier, so it would hurt you in training at 400 pace.

Lyndon thank you very much for your suggestions. Now the Kennedy are very lightweight but I don't feel very confortable with the spikes disposition. I actually use more the outside of my feet (what's the word for that in english, pronation?), so don't you think I should get shoes with some spikes in that position? Well anyway eastbay has only small and extra large sizes left over. So the kennedy are out of discussion. Well they have the Kennedy XC. 7 ounces is about the average weight for an entry level spike right? Just about the same as the Zoom Shift. And they have all the sizes for the XC so I was thinking about taking them. My only concern is that it looks like they have a high back of the shoe and I'm afraid that might hurt my Achilles. Does that makes sense?
