Your rear derailleur needs to be able to handle a 34t sprocket. That
generally means using a mountain bike derailleur. 34t sprockets aren't
available for Campagnolo hubs, so your rear hub needs to be Shimano
compatible. Your chain will need to be long enough to shift into big-big.

Not entirely true. You can swap the freehub body to 'brand s' type on
Record/Chorus/Centaur hubs made after 1999/2000 and then use a shimano
or Sram 34t...agree a long cage RD, shimano if yer shimano or Campag is
the best idea also.

so your rear hub needs to be Shimano

I just pulled the trigger on an XT Long cage rear der, an SRAM 11/34
cassette, and a JTek ShiftMate to match up my Campy ergos to the der
(have the shimano-hubbed wheel already). Found I needed to spin more
on the Death Ride.

Next year, baby, I'm gonna put all five passes under my belt!

Your bike's rear derailleur hanger may or may not be positioned
correctly to allow a long cage rear derailleur to clear it. A 32 big
cog may be as big as you can fit. You have to try it to see if it
works.
