A *lot* too bulky - and heavy - for backpackers. But - I've
got two from last year, a single and a double, and I adore
them. They're thicker than T-A-Rs and their equivalent by a
long way, and a lot heavier and bulkier; however if you're car
camping and you've got room they're also a lot more comfy
simply because of the extra thickth. I use mine as an under-
mattress, and have my T-A-R on top of it. I find it gives me
a far better night's sleep because I like to have a lot of
padding under me and one T-A-R isn't usually enough. At the
last Expedition I took two of the latter for myself (I didn't
have room in the car for the Lidl mattress) and I noticed the
difference. Another thing about the Lidl version is that I
can envisage using it on a hard floor for overnight guests,
where a T-A-R probably wouldn't give enough comfort since
they're not designed to be used on hard floors.

Put it this way - I'll probably be trying to get another
couple of Lidl mats this year.

I regularly used a T-A-R on a hard floor and thought it was fine (I'm fat &
late 40's!)....until I spotted those roll up futon things for about £45 that
zip into a floor cushion....bliss! Have not tried taking that camping
though....not sure the damp air would do it anygood!

For electronic stuff be first in the queue.
For ordinary stuff arrive at opening time, things can last only minutes.
I did that for a Day Sack, and they still have them on sale 14 days later

Also how much free advertising the offers get on usenet and similar places.
I would swear that the people shopping at our local Lidl are mostly non
walkers. But the sticks went in minutes, the rucksacks are still there
after weeks.
