  1. A few weeks ago I started having palpitations (more than usual, that
is), so naturally I decided to join a gym. 8-)

I have been swimming only, every alternate day, and built up to a
regular 30 lengths, my boredom level. Strangely I have developed a
sore Achilles tendon, but only in my right leg. It is worse when I get
out of bed in the morning, or when I have been seated for some time.

Can you get such a problem from swimming, (breast stroke) or could it be
that I've been wearing Teva sandals nearly all the time?

I have been doing little walking during this 3 weeks or so, and it's a
nuisance because I was intending to start on the treadmill by now...

They let you in the pool with them on? :-)

I can think of better ways to walk...

I would go and see a sports phisio about the tendon and a doctor about
    the palpitations.

The people in Tewkesbury (and more recently Jamaica) would disagree

Went to Etherow Park this morning, got out of the car, drizzle as though
in cloud, and I was limping painfully, so we had a chip butty in the
    lakeside cafe instead. 🙂

I abandoned the Tevas on Sunday and now wear an old pair of plastic
beach sandals round the house and to the gym.
I could hardly put my foot to the ground this morning, but in a few
hours the pain has disappeared! I suspect that the Tevas are a size
small, and the rear strap was too tight round the back of my ankle.

Unfortunately the rear strap can not be adjusted.
