Access in Glen Lyon

No problem any time I've been there. There's space for a few cars by the
road and a small car park down the lane opposite the (big!) gate at
Invervar. In stalking season you might find a sign asking you to go
round either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Unless you can think of a good
reason not to (i.e. bloody-mindedness doesn't count) please pander to
the estate owner's whims.

I am guessing that you are refering to the Carn Mairg group from Invervar !
I have no knowledge of any access problems, and seriously doub't any one
could create an access problem, you have every right to use these hills!

I recently read somewhere that the signage had changed completely in
Glen Lyon and that they now show a welcome notice.

As for the car park mentioned above the untarred road where the car
park is located leads to a farm. This track gets blocked by
inconsiderate walkers who are either unaware that the track leads to a
farm or leave insufficient space for farm machinery to pass. No
wonder the farmer gets frustrated. I spoke with him a few years ago -
pleasant chap but was fed up with not being able to get on with his
work due to parked cars.

I had no problems in March, space for about 6 cars (more if you feel like
blocking farm access!). There's also parking next to the red telephone box,
but that can quickly block the main road. Mid week is much less busy, the
the usual weekend crowd.

BTW, the road from Ben Lawers vistor centre to Glen Lyon is a nightmare,
when it's busy season or weekend, it's a very narrow long road with some
scary drops, and all sort of rocks lying on the road surface. Once in Glen
Lyon it's usually a normal sized 2 lane road.
