  1. I don't follow boxing, but I happened to glance at an article Sunday
about a boxer who just won a big fight this weekend.

He said the hardest part about training was not having sex for 13
    weeks before the fight.

Are you kidding me? In this day and age, are there really "athletes"
    who still buy that?

The night before, OK. But 13 weeks?

As some wag once put it, it's not the sex the night before that's bad.
It's staying up all night chasing it that's bad.

On the other hand, Lynn Jennings was fairly direct about saying that she did
want to have sex the night before. She seems to have survived this training
"gaffe" ok--just a couple of world cross champs and a bronze in '92.

Face it, a single bout of sex has been "measured" at about 300 calories, or the
equivalent of a 3 mile jog. If your performance is going to affect your
performance, you're in pretty lousy shape. Would I say no to my wife on
Saturday morning just because I have a track race on Saturday afternoon? Hell,
    NO!

I've had no adverse affects to a little noggie the night before a
race. I wouldn't want to be involved in a 3 hour orgie but the regular
vanilla plain noggie, no problem. I can vouch that the morning of the
    race is not recommended.

I don't know but it must take a *hell* of a lot of focus to have a
body like a boxer and avoid the chicks. Maybe that is his reasoning.

  10. Some data points from an anonymous source:

Morning of tennis tournament: Not good. No fire.

Morning of interval workout: Good. Relaxed and strong.

Doesn't that come out to about 18,000 calories an hour? :-)

There was some idiot article in the Indy newspaper where they had
"Calories burned per hour" for a large number of activities. They had
sex at 127, the same as for sitting at a desk or sitting in a meeting.
Either they aren't having sex right, or they're haveing some fun
    meetings.
