Combined with running. I can do all the crunches I want, but without
running I simply get no results.

Of course this is nothing but a fancy crunch bench, but afterall, this
    is a weighlifters NG, so you're bound (there's a turn-on for 99% of
these guys) and you'd expect to be pointed to a apparatus that is no
    more useful than crunches.

Really good trolls are intelligent and knowledgeable, which allows them
to troll with confidence and the admiration of the trollees.

    In other words, not you.

The old Ironman Ab Bench provides full range crunches, due to the
humped back pad, and allows them to be weighted. Far more effective
    than regular floor crunches.

I would not expect you, on your "ya' want fries with that?" salary, to
be able to afford to buy one for your single wide.

OK, back to being ignored with you.

There are no "best" exercises - many different exercises are effective,
and people who deadlift and squat often have "solid" abs without doing
ab-specific exercises. Pavel's "Bullet Proof Abs" contains unusual ab
exercises including the Janda situp (abs) and the Full Contact Twist
(obliques) with very specific instructions on how to perform them for
maximum safety and effectiveness, see http://www.kbnj.com/bpa.htm Video
of me doing one of the exercises from this book is here:
    http://www.kbnj.com/Inverted_Wheel.rm

It's worth mentioning - again and again - that the abs most people want
come mostly from low body fat.

Well that's me then coz I have very low fat %.

    Cool.

Weighted bench or ball crunches and weighted side bends on a back
    extension bench.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone

Sorry, I used to have a back extension bench at home, so I rattled that
reply off a bit too quickly (I figure you don't have one, as most small
home gyms don't in my experience). Those big inflatable exercise balls
can be used for these as well as weighted ball crunches. Just shove your
feet into the angle where the wall meets the floor or under a couch or
    something.

Well not so much congratulations. The reason I'm working out is to build
muscle bulk coz I'm like a rake. 196cm tall and only 77 kilos. Eek! No
fat on me at all (although I did have a body fat index thing done on me
at the Gym which showed that I did have a "normal" body fat index - of
which, however, im not entirely convinced).

Help! Although someone joked about Tape Worm its really starting to [censored]
me off! It's always been this way.. I just have a fast metabolism. I can
eat and eat and eat and eat and not put on an iota ! My bros the same.
I've even tried drinking hi calorie milkshakes for all the good that
did! .... however.... working out HAS made me noticably muscular .. so
now my current "idea" is to just do some weights mixed in with aerobics
so that I gradually put on a bit of weight.

    6' 7" and 170 lbs. - yeah, that's pretty skinny. It doesn't sound like
you need ab work, though - it sounds like you need a classic
mass-building program. There are lots of them. I would skip most of
the aerobic and concentrate on lifting heavy weights.

The program "20-rep squats" - go to http://www.ironmind.com and find the
book of the same name - is the first everyone usually mentions. Pavel's
Bear program is another, see http://www.kbnj.com/ptp.htm - it's a great
book about strength training as well.. The 20-rep squat program
recommends a gallon (4 liters) of whole milk every day - that will give
you something of an idea of the amount of eating required.

But it's the combination of heavy lifting and big eating you should be
looking for in your training. Heavy weights - "Barbie" weights won't do
it for you. Your program should be summarized in two words, Squat and
    Eat.

How do you know you don't already have killer abs ?? I know I have
pretty darn good abs...washboard stomach in fact...problem is, the
dryer is parked in front. If I were ever inclined to drop about 20-30
pounds I'm sure I could show off a killer six pack...I'm much more
interested in the OTHER six pack to bother. I doubt I have the
discipline required to drop to the required BF% to expose my abs...

So...developing abs isn't that hard, it's have the right BF% to expose
them that's the hard part....at least for me.
