  1. According to Geoff Monk's Snowdonia forecast for Sunday the wind will
    be:

    "South veering westerly: 15/20mph, but perhaps 3035mph in gusts for a
    time in morning...

    Don't fancy getting caught on Crib Goch in one of those gusts!

    Must have been similar here. Was just about to go for a spin on the
    bike when the heavens opened. After a few minutes I decided that a
    bike would be no use without a keel and bolt-on floats

    It was hotter on Sunday than Saturday; both days were unpleasant. I
    was in woodland (allegedly in the shade) off the A6 between Rushden
    and Bedford at the weekend. Luckily the hornets were either asleep or
    out bothering someone else; something else however decided that my
    calves make a nice tasty snack. There were gnats a-plenty; however
    whatever bit me was bigger than one of those relatively harmless
    beasties. Despite doubling up on antihistamine treatment I have some
    lovely red blotches...

    Total distance walked - not as much as it seemed;
    Total ascent - you speak strangely, earth man. I know nothing of
    these 'ascents' of which you speak. Probably about 3", if that.
