I like to make cole slaw with this by adding Hellimans Just 2 Good Mayo and
some Splenda, a little black pepper & a pinch of salt.

The broccoli slaw does taste like raw broccoli, but not as
much IMHO as the flowerets do.

If I understand you right -- yes. None of the furry tops are
used -- just peeled and julienned stems.

Hey Anny! It appears we're neighbors (of sorts). I'm also
a fellow western burbanite - born and bred. Been here
long enough that *630* is now my third area code without
moving more than 8 miles. Heck, the first phone was a
party line. LOL!

I've used the broccoli slaw before, unfortunately my system
doesn't tolerate it well unless it's cooked. I think it's
something back from the days of my being stupid and using
the nutrisystem program. Ever since then I can not eat raw
broccoli or raw cauliflower, unless I want to suffer through
6 hours of nagging stomach cramps and couch duty. You are
right though, it is a great product.

That's good to know. I'll keep my eyes open for it.

We'll be moving to the western burbs soon, but I'm not sure
if we'll be able to take our number with us.

for my college years when I lived in Champaign. So this is
my third area code, too. I used to complain about the
proliferation of area codes until I realized we were part of
the problem -- my husband and I have five telephone numbers
between the two of us -- our home number, plus (since we
both work out of the house much of the time) a business
number for each and a cell number for each. And we used to
have a fax/modem number, too.

To put this a bit on-topic -- the Trib had its roundup of
farmers' markets Wednesday. Not too long before my local one
starts -- all those delicious zero and low point fruits and
vegetables!

for my college years when I lived in Champaign. So this is
my third area code, too. I used to complain about the

Where abouts are you located? I was raised in Naperville -
born in Aurora as Naperville had no hospital at the time
(showing my age here). Now I've relocated as far away as
Glen Ellyn - Naperville got way too big for me. We're also
contributing to the excess phone numbers - 6 in our house.
Kids, hub and I each have our cell phones which are business
and personal combined ... home phone and business/fax line
in the house. At one time hub used to carry two cell phones
with him but it became so much of a hassle - something was
ringing constantly.

I haven't looked at the papers but have been wondering when
the local markets in my area will be opening. Guess I better
