Donovan, The idiot is wearing NIKES, so of course he goes through 2,3, or 4 pairs a year. He continually rants how great they are, but has to buy 2 or 3 pairs a year? LOLOL. Gee, I'm on year 3 of my older Asics, and they are still great off road, and my newest ones are over a year now at 9 miles a day, with NO SIGNS OF WEAR on them. And to think I pay a 1/3 to 1/2 less too? Not just that, but notice how he skirts the mileage question? I'm betting if he did more than 3 miles his ankles would break. The more he posts, the more we know he's just a troll, or just a fool.
In the late 70's ,early 80's...all nike,reebok were made tough..I remember the reebok wallywaffle and how nike started 2 make their own trainers tougher than that reebok protocol'waffle' design. You couldn't beat a Reebok GL1600 or an Adidas 500 (better than the 600)....they started making them for fashion first, and secondary came comfort for the endurance and long distance runner...Adidas web was comfy.. All the designer dudes tho' went for a completely non athletic trainer called the adidas 'gazelle', and it was this that made adidas concern their focus on 'running' as a different option...

History means little in this discussion. The real problem with nikes is they are made all over at various sweat shops, and the consistency is just not there.
