I'd mentioned previously that I thought I would have a hard time at our
favorite Chinese buffet restaurant...well today we ate there. And I did
FINE, while my family was able to enjoy the foods that they loved, and I'm
so happy! I've avoided the place completely for the last month, but I did
find that, not only was there plenty there that was ok for me to eat, but I
wanted far LESS than I used to eat when we went there, pre-LC.
Today they were slicing New York Strip, and also a pork loin roast (which
they do every Sunday). They have a great salad bar, so I had a salad with
broccoli bits, hard-boiled egg, and cheese, with ranch dressing - just
enough to taste (remembering the bleu cheese dressing from a few days ago).
I also had a thin slice of each kind of meat, and a pile of broccoli. I'd
told myself that I'd eat all of the right things first and if I still wanted
the "forbidden" foods afterward I'd allow myself to choose one. But of
course that was a mind game with myself because I really knew after eating
the good stuff I wouldn't want anything else. 🙂
Anyway - it's good to know that we can still go there as a family after
church, and my husband and daughter can eat all the eggrolls and
sweet'n'sour they want...and I'll be just as happy with the other offerings.
Every day I learn something new 🙂.
