we had to make a "medallion" in one of my classes while learning how to do CNC stuff. limited to 2.5 dimensions (2d surfaces with height differences) because we only have one good 3d CNC machine, but this is what I came up with. Its attached to an Air motor - spins a good 1500RPM with a small compressor. I might go make a keychain out of a similar design after my finals are done (2 more days!)

Used to work at a place that had fifth axis machine. A Mazak QT 28 (or 30??). In fact, it had to be sent back to Mazak to have the deck shaved, and the entire internals reversed (the fifth axis was hitting the deck). It was one of only three in the world of this configuration, at the time. All three were in the company.
