  1. Getting up at 6 AM on a Sunday to ride my bike is still kinda crazy to me.
I'm a 9-hours-of-sleep-a-night kinda girl and need the Sunday Sleep Ins.

But, at the prospect of riding a trail (I'm a roadie, Single Track scare's the bejeez out of me-which is probably a good thing, who wants bejeez in them?)
that I pass each day on the way to work had me getting up early without complaint.

    What a great ride! 🙂

My son (11 years, just getting into cycling) joined my DH and I ( and a small group of cycling friends) for the 30 miler and HE got up without complaint!!

The scenery was wonderful, the air was cool but not too cold, the sun was warm, the trail was clear. A day when you get bugs in your teeth cuz you just can't stop grinning.

Worth getting up early on a Sunday for.
    It's WHY we ride. . .

Hope you all had buggy teeth today, too.

  2. Today was a buggy teeth day for me too....

Partly because it was the first sunny day all week... the weather was great when I went out for my ride.... and partly because I finally switched out the knobby tires on my mtb for a nice pair of slicks and the ride is much smoother and faster.

  3. Sounds good.
Today I started at 5am with a 4 mile run, that took 29 min. Then a 15 mile bike ride, which included 2 causeways.

Here is a look at one of the causeways from the other.

And this is looking down from one, and i wasn't even at the top.

  4. I'm kind of in withdrawel. I took a nice 20 mile ride yesterday, rode to my LBS to get my free 45 day tuneup...and now I have to wait until Tuesday to get my bike back. This weekend, apparently everyone had the same idea I did and the LBS is also closed on Monday. Ahh well.....guess I'll putter around on my Walmart special MTB until I can get my roadbike back.

  5. Hey Savagewolf,

I was in Oregon last summer, end of July into August. On the coast, Oceanside.
    It was really cold!
We took our bikes to OR in order to ride and I it was tough.
There is way too much AIR there! I was hyperventilating just breathing.
I'm too used to my mile high altitude.
Beautiful scenery though, breathtaking really. Maybe that is why I had trouble breathing, the views!

  6. Ginny in Denver the profile pic looks like "Cousin It". Yeah well when kids or adults are excited about something they get up easily. A kid doing 30 miles that is pretty good.
