Consider buying one roll of yellow, and one roll of green,
and double-wrap the bars in alternating colors (e.g. put one
color right next to the other, and wrap the bars with your
new double-wide tape).

If you're looking for a unique color, is to buy some white
cloth tressostar / tressoplast tape and dye it in the
washing machine. You may then need to use silicone or
contact cement as a backing or something similar and wrap
the handlebars.

Better yet, just buy white tressostar tape, wrap the bars,
and then color the tape while its on the bars. I believe
that dye magic markers are available at fabric shops for
such purposes.

1)We have (ahem) a lot of weird tape here:

2)inline adjusters work fine for brake and gear but use the
proper ferrules ( both sizes come in the kit).
3)We have the older Redline fork mount cable hanger and the
new model, too.
4)I don't have anything good to say about a cog and lockring
both mounted on the same thread and calling one of them
"locked" . YMMV.

In college a friend who studied mechanical engineering
told me that 90% of a screw's fastening ability was in the
first three threads. From that I would say that your one
turn is not sufficient. Whether it does any good at all, I
don't know.

it was a long lost reference to similar mechanical theory
which had me hoping my one turn would work. i thought the
first thread did the majority of the plastic deformation,
with the second a little bit, and the third a wee bit more.
anyways, doesnt matter, i think ill be fine without a
lockring in this application.

heh, i did just that on another bike. an alternating wrap of
neonish yellow and cork celeste. looks appropriately funky
there, but a little clownish for the bars i have in mind.

sounds tempting, but i guess id end up with a rock hard bar,
and i do love my foam. i wonder if i could dye a white foam
handlebar tape. seems like it should be doable.
