Addendum: the unnamed dude, like me, thinks the domestic scene is fairly dirty. He also knows that DeCanio's information has to be taken with a grain of salt. Half the time it's incorrect.
Therein lies the rub. He discredits his cause by propogating every rumor, regardless of whether or not he knows the rumor to be true.

Oh, my. Dumbass doesn't start to cover it. I will concede that you can make an ugly lug (for one thing, they shouldn't go more than half way down the tube...), but whether a 70s Colin Laing or almost any Sachs (partial to any that are red and white) or a traditional Brit bike, there is nothing like a lugged frame for artistry when done right.
Have we previously used Philistine, or is that open for use here?

OTOH, I have to admit that my ability to talk myself into buying up when I buy a bike has deteriorated, much less talk myself into buying every other year. I just talked myself down from a Fuji Team Pro to a Roubaix Pro. An extra pound and an extra gear simply is meaningless for my riding.
I'm guessing if both the bike and I survive into 2010, I'll probably still be riding it.

My approx. 2 year old frame recently developed a crack where there used to be a dent from a crash in a race. [censored] sometimes happens when you race.
Anyway if you like lugs so much why don't you get one of those BMC's that Phonak ride, they've got some weird lug like thingies holding the tubes together (and I'm sure there will be an official Phonak one on e-bay quite soon, unless its gets auctioned on believetyler.com)
