Hello all,
This is my first post here, but I'm going to make this group a stop on my list everyday!
About 6 weeks ago I decided to start getting in shape again!
I was in the military previously, and the most we ever ran was 2 miles at a time.
Well I started in my basement with just the treadmill we have, and I found it quite difficult
to complete a mile! I worked my way up, and promised to at least get 1 1/2 miles in..but I only
completed it once, so I just kept running 1 mile each workout [ i was also lifting weights
after my run]
So basically, I would run ONLY on the days I lifted, about 3 days a week.
Well this past week I decided im stepping it up, I have a membership at the new fitness center, its
huge, and they have a cool indoor upper track which I like. I've started since about 4 days ago
going everyday, and running 2 miles!
I run for 1 mile, take a walking lap, then run another mile...the first 2-3 days i felt no pain, and
felt very good. But the past couple days, my whole lower legs all the way around hurt about 5-6 laps
into my run. Doesnt feel like splints, so im not sure. Im thinking they arent used to the added
intensity now, and im not giving them enough time to recover, but I dont wanna get out of this new
routine with the running everyday.
If I just use a little determination, then I can get thru my run...
Anyways, any help you can offer is appreciated!
I also plan to research running more, and even prepare to do some K runs, whatever they are..im not
too educated...but I know a marathon is probably 6 months away for me, if not longer...but thats my
ultimate goal!
Thanks for the help guys.
