Just being on two wheels is not enough apparently. I only get a nod from motorcyclists if I am on my
Tour Easy (OSS). If I am on my Infinity (USS) they deign not to notice me. I guess they can
recognize a family resemblance to my Tour Easy but not to my Infinity.

Has anyone had any experience or know someone who has used the Reevu bicycle helmet? It has a rear
view mirror system built into the helmet itself. It looks like a good idea and should work well if
you can believe their web site at www.reevu.com. It's not available in the US at this time, but
one was just sold on Ebay for $100.

This was much discussed a year or so ago. I got a lot of arguement when I said it sure looked like
it would give you a good view of your rear tire on a recumbent. Just look at a pic of a DF rider and
the angle that would be shown by the mirror to show the road behind you. Now use that same angle on
the a bent......

Will - Unlike what may be the common conception (miss-conception?)... All recumbent riders are not
vegetarian, health food nuts who live some weird alternate life style. Some of us recumbent riders
(like me!) also ride Harleys and some of us even have beards and ear-rings!

I would take the thumbs up from a Harley rider the same way that you would accept it from the driver
of a car or truck or even from a DF'er... He liked your ride and expressed his feelings to you! Who
knows, it might have been me!

I've even given up on 7000 series AL, that's not going to cut it next season.

I'm liking the product companies like Fondriest with their U107 and De Rosa with their UD frame are
doing. They are using Dedacciai U2 tubes, that's nice stuff, it's restricted to riders who weight
under 165lbs.

I wouldn't mind getting the De Rosa Cinquanta this winter, but it's based on the De Rosa King, which
is WAY overbuilt so any 180lb fattie can own it.

If Ugo could only shave the Cinquanta frame down to 1.05 kilos or even just to the level of his
Merak frame then I would think about it.

I would like to get NASA's Mark J. Shuart and Bob Daugherty who are the senior Structures &
Materials Engineers at the Langley Research Center to work with Ugo and Cristiano De Rosa on this.

I know Cristiano won't be able to do it at their Milano shop so we would have to do it at NASA's
Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. or bring in Michael Phipps on this and use his
Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans. Phipps has good connections with the Lockheed Martin guys
so it may work out fine for me.

Anyway, a 14.3 lb Cinquanta is just a matter of getting my NASA people talking with my De
Rosa people!

than that?

That's a damn strange way to put it, unless you are confused about the relationship between pounds
and kilograms.

If it is 6.800 kg, then it is 14.991 lb, not 14.96.

If it really is 14.96 lb (highly unlikely; more likely that it is based on some old standard of
15.000 lb), then it is 6.79 kg.
