I asked this question a few months ago and no one responded.
I am a Creed user, and supposedly the Empire is the
replacement. It's nice looking, seems a little more flaxible
than the Creed, but i haven't tried it on yet.

The price is a little steep. That's what's stopping me at
the moment.

Weight isn't the only factor that makes the shoe "brick
like". Flexibility is at least as important. The Saucony
Trigon is around 13oz but not all that "brick like", but
less flexible shoes the same weight are.

But the empire seems to be a built-up shoe suitable for
heavier runners. If you want something that's mid-light
weight, wouldn't you be better off with the 2090 ?

I'm so happy with my 2090's I wouldn't consider moving up the line.
What were you wearing, and if it was working for you, why the change?
But on to your question. Personally weight has never effected my
running, light or heavy your feet won't know the difference once you
get used to them. One of my tricks was to do LSD runs in heavy
trainers, and use lighter shoes for fast WO's or races. I'm pretty
sure that idea isn't original to me though :?)~

Like I mentioned earlier, I have the Creed (which I love,
but I haven't tried much else), and it too, according to the
description, says "heavier".

But I'm 5' 10" and I weigh, at the most, 155 on a "bad" day,
and 150 on a "good" day.

MIght something else suit me better? (I certianly wouldn't
mind SPENDING less)

Hello,

I am a 38 year old newbie to this exciting world of
running. I am trying to find some general information
about running and also about good running shoes. Excuse
me if my questions sounds repetetive and ignorant.

Can somebody recommend a good pair of shoes at a reasonable
price( below $100)?. Is 2090 referred here same as ASICS GT-
2090?. But the price for this shoe at Amazon is 90 bucks.
Can I get this shoe cheaper at some other place? Any
recommendations?.

My weight is around 168 lbs. I am currently running on a
tread mill but want to switch over to outdoors in near
future as one of my friends suggested that outdoor
running is more effective than running on a tread mill.
Is this correct?.

My primary goal in running is to increase my lung capacity
and secondary goal is to reduce weight. I am planning to run
only in the mornings.

Any suggestions to this newbie are welcome.
