I recently came into possession of a low end Bell cycle computer but didn't
get the documentation. Can anyone confirm the figure I have of 2096mm for
the circumference of a 700x23c?

Let me see, different brands vary but the 23c tires I've rolled out in
the past come out at 82.5" at 110 psi which converts to 2095.5mm.PH

with the valve at a set point on the ground and roll the bike forward while
weighted accordingly one rotation and mark where the valve again touches the
ground. That's your circumference.JF

line allowing two oil spots to be created on the floor. Measure from front
edge of one to the other. This is a simple, accurate way to find the
circumference of your tire. Just to be anal measure the tire that the
computer will be reading...-p

tape around the front tire, then I sit on the bike and roll it most of the
100' length of tape, counting tire revolutions. Then simply read off the
distance of the last complete revolution (from the leading edge of the
tape), and divide by the number of wheel revs. Convert to mm. This is more
accurate than trying to measure one revolution. -
