(Ss. 33 - 4, 34B - 1, 34C - 1, 35A - 17) and likewise Wales (Ss. 30B -24, 30D - 9, 30E - 15, 30F -
5, 31A - 3, 31B - 3, 31C - 2, 32A - 3).

Looks like I'll have to get out more.

I tried to write one for the great soaking (a grey day for Gray Crag) but it turned into a long
whinge so I gave up. The last 2 trips were relatively modest walks in indifferent weather and there
is only so much that can be said about plodding around in mist or with restricted views.

Todays (Sunday) walk very nearly didn't come off. It was originally planned for Saturday but
Metchecks weather forecast eventually changed to match the BBC and I didn't really fancy another
good soaking.

There was a divergence of opinion between Metcheck and the BBC again for Sunday and although
Metcheck missed the heavy early rain I think it was closer than the BBC and even forecast with great
precision the afternoon rain from 3pm.

I did wonder where that walk had been. I got drenched there too, btw. A bit boring, that walk, in

I decided yesterday morning to forget about this weekend, on the basis of iffy forecasts. I'm not
really impressed by the accuracy of any of them, to be honest, but I don't particularly want to
spend all day in the cloud. Once again - well done. It must feel good!

Yes. I was in cloud all the way from the summit of Gray Crag to the Summit of Troutbeck Tongue
except for a brief respite at the lowest col. The rain eased and cloud rose on the way up to
Threshthwaite Mouth and it was almost pleasant coming down Hartsop Dod.

Today wasn't too bad. We were only in cloud briefly and the rain while walking was almost as brief.
Metcheck of course got me soaked on Gray Crag with an extra 3 hours rain they hadn't forecast but
the BBC forecasts have been universally pessimistic.

Why? You will have done all the SWEATs above and you have a fair lead on the Marilyns - over 40 and
I have only done 39 this year.

For the uninitiated just the Section numbers from Alan Dawsons 'The Relative Hills of Britain'. They
are just a logical extension of the divisions long used in Munros Tables.
