    But what was your maxHR?

Did you experience anxiety from avoiding hills?

My earlier observations of your action need revision.

I suspect you are a candidate for plantar fasciitis, but you are saved from this because you don't use your feet or calves with any
    sense of engagement.

It's the dead shuffle vs the live shuffle.

The live shuffle can stride out as your VO2max can handle it. The dead shuffle has no potential. [Is it time for ballroom dancing?
    Avery non-dead activity.].

If you are using Galloway, you can_cycle/are_cycling between surges of several mins and (brief) recovery. Sensible enough for
getting up to a level where you need to get beyond the dead shuffle.

But who knows? Prophets from the past claimed they could make the blind see and the lame walk, but they could not lead the fool from
    his folly.

[I don't ascribe to this, being prophet-averse. I believe that there is hope for anyone, AS LONG AS there is some self-honesty].

Tomasso - with injured sartorius insertion, so has time to reflect...

I'm in superb aerobic shape from mountain climbing. Running is like
walking for me. My problems are shin splints and upper quad pain. I
think Im shuffling maybe because Im running slow. If I run fast I hurt
myself. I had plantar fascitis when I first started running but that
was never a big problem. I think my problem is that Im impatient.

you could try stretching, icing, heating, and warming up. Or better
    shoes depending on your miles.

The gallos way:Just get on the chair, put the noose around your neck,
and kick out the chair. Your feet will move faster than ever
    before...for a few minutes.
