The first image is me on Atkins and happy.

The second is five years after working for Coke. We got all the free Coke we
wanted and as you can see, I took 'advantage' of that.

Thankfully I was laid off and am back on Atkins and feeling better. Fifth
day in ketosis, zero cravings, energy levels rising.

I'm not weighing myself as I will use clothes as a guide for the first
    month.

You shoulda stuck to the "Diet" version. ;-)

Seriously though, it reminded me of the "Supersize me" movie
that I finally just got around to seeing.

Quite a change eh? I'm also not weighing myself but can see great changes
in my clothes, seat belt, and many other ways - including the mirror 🙂.
I'm glad you're feeling better and getting back on track! 🙂

  4. I added up the total amount of coke I was drinking each day when I was
300lbs, then divided by 12. It was the equivalent of 13 cans of coke a
day. That's the same as 2000 calories or 196 sugar packets. That's in
addition to the vast amounts of food I was eating. I've also seen
research that says that fructose (as in high fructose corn syrup) is
metabolized differently in the human liver than the other sugars.
Basically, if you don't have an instant need for that sugar right now,
it's converted straight to fat. Not to mention the phosphoric acid
    leaching calcium from your bones.

One of my kids also has a problem with Coke. We don't keep it in the
house anymore, and she begs for it every chance she gets. But we
never allow her to have it now. Her weight is a problem, but not
serious yet. And at 11, she could easily do in an entire 2 liter
bottle herself every day if we let her.

    Coke is evil.

I'm now working for a large software company that still has the dotcom
style stocked fridge with free soft drinks and snacks. I can't imagine
how many I would have consumed each day if they were free.

I've never been much for soda, Coke or otherwise, since my Pepsi days a
long, long time ago. But I became a true believer when we hauled a load
of product to a Coca-Cola plant (I believe it was in New Jersey) that
    required haz-mat placards.

Gotta get me some more of THAT!

Hi, Dean! It's good to see you back and on track. I mostly lurk these
days. Your posts are quit motivating.

I look forward to reading/watching your progress.

Dean standing on a freeway off-ramp with a sign that stated: Will Work
