Last year, pharma sold $466 billion in Rx drugs.

It is estimated that at least 20% is put back into marketing. That's
$93.2 billion used to influence doctors, researchers, politicians, and
    consumers.

that is not millions, it is BILLIONS.

You are Canadian and think the US is evil. enough said.

  3. A normal company puts 10% back into research and 10% into marketing.

With a 20% marketing factor, it's equivalent to selling refrigerators
to Eskimos - except in this case, they're affecting people's lives,
    many adversely.

Eskimos? Thanks another Canadian bashing the US. You want to make the
moronic point that drugs are evil also? Try going to the hosptial idiot and
instead of getting medication you get a donut and coffee your world.

And in the meantime, people are being saved from what used to be serious
infections, cancer, heart disease, depression, schizophrenia, and many other
    diseases.

I don't like the way drug companies advertise, especially to consumers for
Rx drugs and docs. But, I like what the drugs do. Save and improve lives.

I agree with you there on prescription drugs and would be in favor of
    stopping that.
