    It's the bicycle racer version of prairie dogging. After a long day in the
    peleton, it's only natural to poke your head up to look around.

    If Hincapie isn't going to contest the sprint, that's where he
    belongs,
    about 20th or 30th place, out of trouble. The sprinters [censored] about
    crashes caused by guys who won't stay out of trouble - especially
    in the early stages, there are about 10 guys who can win a stage,
    but 10 more guys who can't yet are fighting for wheels anyway.

    People in 20th position have no reason to power to the finish
    with their heads down.
