The Specialized Fatboy (1x1.25) is very worthy of a mention in such a
list.

I'm deeply unimpressed with Conti Sport Contacts, having now had
sidewall issues with several of them in both 20" and 26" sizes. Bah.

list.

I'm deeply unimpressed with Conti Sport Contacts, having now had
sidewall issues with several of them in both 20" and 26" sizes. Bah.

I like the AWS (cos the tread is cool) but on extremely smooth surfaces
the tread makes a bit of a rumble. However, they seem to be quite hard
wearing and sticky, loads of grip.

Yeah... lots of urc'ers say they like the funky AWS tread pattern, but
it's never appealed to me. I prefer the full slick look of the Fatboy.
Still, hard wearing and loads of grip sounds good, I may give 'em a
try next time around.

Currently running (my only surviving) Contact Sport front, and a
folding Vredestein S-Lick rear on my 26" town hack. Quite impressed
with the S-Lick, especially as it was a bargain ebay purchase. Seems
grippy and quick, although no idea yet on longevity.
