Congratulations on your new bike.....always an exciting time. Condsidering that I own a dual 26"
bike I, (and I am sure others), would appreciate your comparison with the legendary P-38 so please
keep us up to date on your observations.

Wish I had read this sooner to put in my 2 cents.

Have owned a large frame P38 and put over 3,000 miles on it. Loved the bike and felt that it might
be my last until I tried the Barcroft Virginia. For me, at least, it performs as well or better in
every respect in comparison to the P38. Plus has the added advantage of much greater comfort better
feeling of stability and handling.

Jim Kerns just did the PBP on a Virginia in about 66 hours if memory serves. Granted he changed the
seat and handlebars.

Jim C: thanks for the note: I did consider the Virginia. Seemed to be a bit lower to the ground than
I wished. The report that I read did say the he changed the seat and handlebars. I am certain that
the Virginia is a fine bike. As with many choices, came down to personal selection. Will get backto
the group after a couple of thousand miles on the P-38. Richard Rodgers
