Did anyone else see that Lance Armstrong has been selected as one of
the 25 greatest americans?
This goes to show you regardless of what that man does on the bike,
whether he won enough other races, whether he supported george enough,
whether he is a [censored], or if he is the greatest cyclist of all
time(which obviously goes to Mercx), the man transends his own person,
and cycling, and apparently all but 25 other americans. He is the
imbodiment of survival, of cran, to millions of people. He is who
millions of people see in the mirror when they are living through chemo
or mono or a hangnail, "If Lance could do it so can I" they say to
themselves. So all of you naysayers who think he is overated or
unworthy, understand the violent reaction you get when you bash him is
because you aren't just bashing a guy, a cyclist, but you are bashing
the embodiment, the symbol of the human spirit that we all hope we can
muster when the time comes and by breaking him down, you are
essentailly telling as that we could never live up to the heights of
constitution we think, he has shown us we can achieve.
