  1. What gives? After all the chest thumping about the 24 hr race in Moab, why would the powers that be
even consider this as viable? Or do those that matter really believe their trails won't be trashed
    by the "thundering herd"

Dave (is this a wee bit hypcocritical?)

As I understand it, if they are to have a 24 hour race, it will not occur on existing trails. That
would certainly be one way to avoid the herd mentality.

Dave, try to follow along. Stop and rest if you feel any pain along the way....

hypocrisy: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not; especially : the false
assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion
    m-w.comdictionary

So....it would only be hypocritical if those people who "thumped chests" about the 24 hour race in
Moab were, in fact, the same ones advocating a similar race in Fruita. Therefore, when Paul asks
"hypocritical of whom" he's really asking who in particular (or as a group) was critical of the 24
hr race in Moab and is now adovocating a 24 hour race in Fruita. Now stay with me here, dude....if
its no one in particular then the answer is "no, its not a wee bit hypocritical." And if everyone
cares, then they are in fact not "feighning to be what one is not," since the assumption is they
care about what happens in both Moab and Fruita, and are, therefore not hypocrits.

Allow me to explain further. Its my guess that those who disapprove of a 24 hour race in Moab will
probably not be all that thrilled with a 24 hour race in Fruita. Furthermore, I would speculate that
those planning such an event in Fruita (i.e. "those that matter"😉 are not all that concernced with
trail damage in Fruita, Moab, or anywhere else.

I feel much better now. Thanks

Well, it appears that Mr. Peach posed the question to the denizens at MTBR. And we've all heard our
very own JDs thoughts on the matter. I have since learned that if done, they would not occur on
existing traails. So it looks like the locals will be busy cutting new trail, and if so, please
excuse the hypocritical angle of my prior post.

yeah, you'd think that. But that doesn't appear to be the case here. But I am a bit confused as to
their motives. Perhaps they just want to cut some new trail, and what better way to do that than
having the thundering herd help pack it down. (barring traditional methods of course)

Though I tend to stay away from message boards at MTBR (not as much fun as AMB), I just went back
and found the thread. @.efde1d4"]http:[email hidden]@.efde1d4
I sorta see where you're coming from now, but only after reading through the stuff on MTBR. It
wasn't really all that clear from your original message. I think you may be reading a bit much into
it though. I don't know who all the folks posting there are, but it appears the idea of a 24 hour
race was thrown out by the original poster and there was a variety of responses for and against. I
would venture to say that the good Mr Daniels was somewhat non-commital on the specific topic of a
24 hour event. I'm betting JD's probably not gonna be running out to join the race committe, but
then again, its a free country. As JD has been know to express an opinion now and again, I'm sure
he'll enlighten us with his view should the mood strike him.

As one poster put it, "Who needs all that destruction when we're fighting to keep the trails we
have." Comments like that suggest there's a range of opinion, some of it founded in common sense.

    Why

    Quoted message said:

would anyone even suggest such a thing?

Dipshit, Troy built many of the Fruita trails. He puts on the FFTF. He's fighting the BLM to
    preserve the trails.

You read his post and went off on another pathetic attempt at JD baiting.

Here's the post for those that missed it:

"""Fruita Fat Tire Festival April 29 - May 2, 2004" I appologize if this is construed as a improper
plug, but it is easier than answering the date question 5 times a day. I wanted to post those dates
    for all to see. April 29 - May 2, 2004 www.fruitamountainbike.com www.active.com is a registration
site Also, any thoughts from anyone about our idea of adding a 24 hour type event a week earlier? I
would love to hear any opinions about that since so many of you come to Fruita.

Thanks and happy holidays, see you in Fruita

    troy aka Chet""

Again, how someone could post something as utterly stupid as you did is amazing. But given your long
history of idiocy and being helpelessly trolled, folks shouldn't be surprised.

Hey, if that fantasy makes you feel better about your recent idiocy and hypocrisy, so be it.

When you, or anyone else for that matter, posts tripe, people are going to comment on it.

The difference with you is that you have a long history of hypocrisy, pettiness, and being
chapped about the way that your idiocy has been continually corrected and made the subject of
    humorous posts.
