  1. Milano-Sanremo is the longest professional one-day race at 298 km. The first was in 1907, when Lucien Petit-Breton won. Today it is one of the 'Monuments' of European cycling, and results contribute towards the UCI World Ranking; until 2007 it was part of the UCI ProTour. Milano-Sanremo is often a sprinter's classic.

  2. I wanna yodlinate the words GO BIG LANCE GO !! from the top of Mount Everest or at the very least a cycling forum so terribley badly but i'd hate for anyone to think i'm biased. 😉

can't wait to see The Shack's tactis on this one. do they dominate and send a return message to Conty or cry wolf?

    thanks for the history, Steve.

  3. Bennati.

    Bennati, Boonen, Freire or Farrar.

One of them is the winner. Which one, wait till Sunday morning AEST.

  4. Agreed.
Bennati is very strong at the moment. Moreover, Liquigas is riding like it's peak of the season.
Gilbert will have serious chance if sprinters' teams are disturbed on Cipressa or Poggio.
I think Belgium will have a rider on podium for sure. Boonen is second Belgian with strong chances in San Remo.

  5. Bennati and Boonen look good for the win. I'd like to see Cancellara pull off a similar move to his 2008 win.

Not backing Cavendish this year, Grater?

I quite like racing footage from the early 90's 😄

  9. i'm thinking boasson hagen. seems to be peaking about now and a nice splashy race for sky to go after.

  10. I'm tipping an all B podium

    Bennati
    Boasson Hagen
    Boonen

  11. And your joker could be Bonnet, classic1.

  12. Several sources are predicting rainy Saturday afternoon in Liguria.

  13. I see Cipo has asked Lance to have a go and light up the race. 11th is Lance's best - here's hoping he'll banish the San Remo demon...

In the real workd though - my money is on all the B's as was mentioned earlier.

I read that story, its pretty certain Lance will have an anonymous race.

can you or anyone post a link to the story in question please?

i'm with you on this point. what was it, ninth in south africa and he's going to light it up because the lion king asks him to? maybe if between now and then jenny craig becomes his trainer.

Over the last 12 hours, I'm thinking of standing by Cav.

TA was not about to win, it was about to get mileage in his legs. The early stages were too hard so he wanted to get mileage in his legs.

However, his team is absolutely [censored]. So it's a tough one. I'm actually leaning more towards Freire and Cavendish at the moment than Bennati or Boonen as mentioned previously.

  19. Seems like the 3 B's and Freire are the favorites!

  20. One B, Bennati, was $20-1 earlier in the week
