$200 Wheelset??

Hi,

Supergo are selling a Mavic Open Pro Rim/Shimano Ultegra hubbed wheelset at the moment for $189. Solid, reliable, light enough to race on (if that's what you want).

Their Korso wheels are currently going for $199, which is ok too, for what you get.

I'm sure you'll get lots of other suggestions! 🙂

That's what I bought earlier this year. They appear to be well built, but until I've put about 3000 miles on them I'm not really going to know. Even poorly made wheelsets can fake it for a couple hundred miles.

Web site says Out Of Stock so expect to wait a while before receiving them. But that's why they're marked down a little.

The search function will pull up many threads on wheelsets. It's a topic that comes up frequently.

I would go with a Neuvation Wheelset. They are perfectly priced and bomb-proof!!! We have 3 guys in our local club riding them and they all spent around $200 and have had awesome results.

Regarding the Neuvation wheels... Is M28 Aero really the same as the Performance Titan and Supergo Korso? This thread indicates they are...

Hi,

Short answer is "sort of yes", longer answer is that all three companies source the wheel parts from the same factory in Taiwan:

- Neuvation claim better quality control and assembly
- Supergo use the same parts as Neuvation, but don't claim superior QC and assembly
- Performance Bike supposedly use different spokes to the previous two (not quite as aero, I hear), which seems to lead to people liking them a little less than the other two (roadbikereview.com).

Disclaimer: I have the Supergo Korso's, and am happy with them. They haven't fallen apart or burst into flames under me yet.

Many people seem happy with the Korso's. It's very possible that the Neuvations are put together a little better, but if money's a prime concern, then the Korso's are definitely worth a look (they're not shoddily built, they just don't make special claims about QC about them).

i've been told that the neuvations are spec'd a bit better than the korsos [hub quality] if you read the reviews the performance titans are death on a cracker [exploding spokes] but owners love korsos and neuvations alike. i'm saving my schekels for the neuvations but haven't ruled out the korsos as an option.
